Excellent, dudes & dude-esses, this is great, a nice new & cool looking and functional (e.g. actually works properly for a change) Forum, especially for our lovely TVB starlet Lukian (aka Spring Roll).

This I feel promises to be another great chapter & in the life & adventures of someone who is not just a Hong Kong TV personality, but someone who is clearly a warm, friendly and open person, with whom many people out here in Internet land can connect, and perhaps exchange stories & ideas give moral support during times of stress, and give advice or make suggestions, or even pass comment or honest opinion when invited to do so, and Lukian knows that all of us who are her devoted Fan Club Members (some long standing too) all of us admire all of her efforts and hard work, and cheer her on each day, week, month, and are always here for her, through thick & thin, no matter what, if Lukian has a shitty day for any reason and needs to get it out of her system, she knows that some of us will be on here ready for her to reach out to and we are ready to listen & share, sometimes she can get a bit low, and it is during these times that she needs for us to be around, and so we will be, we will make time each day to check and see how you are Lukian, and to hear what kind of day you had, how many ups & downs you had, to hear if anybody pissed you off, and why, and any other problems that you might be experiencing, we will support you and give fair advice, and if you need to talk person to person (e.g. via Instant messenger voice call) or by phone, you know you are always welcome to speak to any of us if you feel that you'd like to speak to any of us personally (keeping in mind any time differences of course) but otherwise feel free to connect with us, at any time, if you're working long hours at tvb and don't have the time or energy to venture out so much, no problem. just put out a call on this forum and you'll find plenty of us on the side, ready to give you our time, for a chat, a laugh, a sympathetic ear if you need one, anything, just let us know, and we're right here, for you... Cool

On a different note now though, just a quick congratulations on the success of the "Taste of Angels" it's a really awesome piece of work, so well done to you and all the other Angels of TVB.

Also well done for all of your hard work (and suffering in the heat etc) during the making of the "Four Leaf Clover" that's brilliant...you deserve some real praise, so here it is... cheers ...just kidding tongue but seriously though, I've been following the progress and you have really excelled in that this summer, and so you should be feeling very proud of yourself; in fact all of the things that you've done so far this year have all been an amazing success, soon you'll be able to start writing your forthcoming book..."A Year in the Life of an Angel; the road to success" - that would be great; wouldn't it?

Well, anyway, I'm off now, I need to rest now, so, happy days to you dear Lukian, and I hope the coming week will be cooler in Hong Kong, 33c today plus humidity...geeez what a headache... pale
take care, be cool stay cool drink plenty.

Ciao bella... Cool

Shopping in London

Post  Grasshopper on Wed Aug 05, 2009 6:17 am

Hi to you Ken, and yes, you right, it is too expensive here in London, the shops are very nice to look and see, but the cost is very high, and that is why I always wait until I go to Spain and then I buy my things over there, because it is much cheaper in Spain, especially they have got plenty of Chinese shops in Spain, with many. many products, which have the very best prices and quality, and I love to go shopping in those shops when I am there, I have purchased many, many products from Chinese shops, they are much better value for money than British shops.

Anyway, nice to hear from you over there in Hong Kong, perhaps one day in the future I will be able to afford to come and visit HKG, as I have never been there before, and would Love to see the house where Bruce Lee lived, and the studio of IP Man IP Sifu) Grandmaster of Wing Chun, as I did study and learn/practice some things from both of those guys, back in the 1970's when I was a teenager, but now I'm 50, and disabled, so I cannot practice anymore, but I have very good memories of the times when I did, and have always had the dream of seeing the place where they lived and teached Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do.

Anyway, thanks, and as we say in Spanish...Asta Luego - which means See You Later

Am I a gourmet?

Post  Grasshopper on Wed Aug 05, 2009 8:16 am

Am I a gourmet? Well, not exactly, perhaps a Conaisseur of good food, for sure, I have plenty of experience of eating a huge variety of different foods from all continents & cultures, as I was a professional Chef for some years, trained in an apprentiship and qualified at college, then experienced in cooking a wide variety of dishes, so in a way I am a little bit of an expert in how good food should be, and I have an extremely good sense of taste, and I know good high quality food when I get it...(which sadly, in Spain is not too often) as there are so many cowboy outfits who call themselves Restaurantes, but in reality are just a local Bar masquerading as a Restaurant, and I can tell the difference immediately, but now & then I get to eat in a quality place where the dishes are clearly of high standard of production & service and the price is right.

Well I certainly look forward to eating all the culinary delights of Hong Kong one day, I am certain that the standard of cooking there is by far the best in the world, I have heard many good accounts of that, and have seen on tv or read about the quality of food production in HKG, so I have got that to look forward to.

Sadly, I have got some time off at the end of this month, for 10 days, but I will not be able to travel anywhere, as I still got too much money sitting on my credits cards from my last 3 visits to Spain, so I just have to wait now until Christmas, then I can go away again.

By the way, you might like to have a look at this website, it is such a good one for all topics concerning food dishes, of all cultures... www.seasaltwithfood.com/ it is brilliant!!!

Anyway, Ciao for now... Cool
